The Michel Chiha Foundation cordially invites you to attend a complimentary conference at the American University of Beirut (AUB). This event is organized by the Michel Chiha Foundation in partnership with the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the American University of Beirut and Saint Joseph University.

On the occasion of the launch of the anthology of Michel Chiha, and as part of the 2018 Beirut “Salon du livre francophone”, L’Orient Le Jour and the Michel Chiha Foundation organised a debate on “Michel Chiha’s vision and Lebanon future”, which took place on November 10th, 2018 at 17h30.

On November 5th, 2015, “Les Rencontres Culturelles”, in association with the Michel Chiha Foundation, organised a round table discussion entitled “Michel Chiha: a politician”. The event took place at the Armenian Catholics’ St Elie cathedral of Beirut and gathered H.E.M. Charles Rizk, M. Samir Frangié, Me. Abdel Hamid Ahdab, M. Georges Dorlian, as main participants and M. Camille Menassa as moderator.

Loyal to its mission to promote Michel Chiha’s philosophy and thoughts, the MC Foundation, in association with the “Collège Saint-Grégoire” and the “Centre Sportif, Culturel et Social du Collège Notre-Dame de Jamhour”, organised a conference around the theme “A man of Lebanon”, on November 26th, 2012.

The Michel Chiha Foundation was founded to promote the thoughts and writings of Michel Chiha as an intellectual, journalist, economist, humanist, visionary and cofounder of modern Lebanon.

The executive committee of the Michel Chiha Foundation chose to pay tribute to Their Excellencies MM. Fouad Boutros and Ghassan Tueni, President and Vice-President respectively, for services rendered to the Foundation.

On the 8th of February 2008, a panel comprised of HE. Michel Eddé (former Chairman of the Maronite League), Chris Doyle (Council for Arab-British Understanding), Professor Samir Khalaf (American University of Beirut) and Eugene Rogan (St. Anthony’s College, Oxford University) celebrated the publication of Chiha’s Palestine: Political Reflections, 1944-1954.

On October 18th, 2005, the Michel Chiha Foundation, in collaboration with the St-Joseph University, organised a conference with guest speaker Dr Joseph Maila, Director of the “Centre de Recherche sur la Paix”, in Paris. The conference called “Conditions for the Revival of Lebanon” was held at the Pierre Abou Khater amphitheatre of the Campus of Human Sciences – USJ.

On June 4th, 2005, the Michel Chiha Foundation, in collaboration with the St-Joseph University, organised a conference with guest speaker Ms Hélène Carrère d’Encausse, perpetual secretary of the French Academy. The conference was themed “Russia and the roots of democracy”.
